Microgrid Energy has completed installation of a 25 kW array at Tarlton Corporation Headquarters in St. Louis. The LEED silver certified facility is a showcase for the company’s expertise in green construction, and the solar array is a part of the company’s goal to stay on the forefront of high-performance building.
Said Microgrid president Marc Lopata, “Tarlton has consistently demonstrated leadership in sustainability in our community, and we have been proud to help them become the first general contractor in St. Louis to make a commitment to onsite solar power. We look forward to working with Tarlton to help deliver renewables as a part of their projects in the future.”
The solar array has a power capacity of 25 kilowatts, which is roughly equivalent to the power required by 5 average homes. This size array will save the company over $250,000 in utility costs over its life, while offsetting carbon emissions equivalent to the amount offset by planting 70 acres of trees.
