Ameren to Raise Bills by $63M

Regulators said Ameren Missouri can raise its fuel and purchased power adjustment charge on the bills of its electric customers by $63 million.

The St. Louis-based utility said it needed the increase to cover increasing costs of fuel and power it purchases.

The average residential customer using 1,100 kilowatts per month will see bills rise by $1.24 a month, effective Jan. 26, regulators said.

Last month, the Public Service Commission staff recommended the tariff be approved.

St. Louis-based Ameren Corp. (NYSE: AEE), through its subsidiaries, Ameren Illinois and Ameren Missouri, serves 2.4 million electric customers and 1 million natural gas customers in a 64,000-square-mile area of Missouri and Illinois.
